RNA Presents: Jeff Cohen Photography's 10th Anniversary Year
MY FAVORITE PHOTOS
FROM THE PAST
10 YEARS
It’s hard to believe but this year is the 10th anniversary of my photo business. Yikes! What started as an adventurous idea of renting a small local store front, purchasing lighting gear, new digital cameras and hanging a few canvas backdrops and then having folks allow me to photograph them and actually pay me has worked. Over the decade I’ve photographed successful CEO’s and young entrepreneurs, brand new babies and a grandmother at 100; I’ve worked with patrons of the arts at the Ravinia Music Festival Galas and at-risk young men and women from the south side of Chicago’s UCAN community. There’ve been musicians and writers, baristas, war heroes and even a cat. Along the way I’ve met many amazing people, watched kids and families grow and made countless new friends. So what began is a lark has grown into a successful and creatively rewarding second career. To celebrate the many hundreds of photo sessions over the past 10 years I’ve decided to publish a monthly gallery devoted to a specific theme or subject. In respect to the recent death of Betty White who was a lifelong animal lover I thought January’s collection should be devoted to pets and pet owners - a sample of 4 images is below. Many of the photos go back several years and I’ve lost track of the subjects so if you see your photo, give a shout, I’d love to hear from you. A complete gallery of images can be found on my website: www.JeffCohenPhotography.com. And if you would like to follow Betty’s lead in helping animals you can donate at #BettyWhiteChallenge which has raised over $12.7 million for animal shelters and rescues. I'll be posting a new gallery for February devoted to couples in honor of Valentine's Day!
